Frequently Asked Questions

BREEDER INFORMATION

  We have one to two litters of Labrador Retriever puppies per year. 
  We guarantee our puppies with a written contract. 
  We have no other breed of dog and do not sell to brokers or puppy stores.
  We typically have a waiting list for puppies.
  We ENCOURAGE visits, phone calls, and e-mails from our puppy families.
  We consider "Labrador Education" to be part of the package.

PUPPY INFORMATION

  We produce only black and yellow Labrador Retrievers

  All puppies are born in our home and socialized with people, children, and other dogs.

  All puppies are sold on an AKC Limited Registration.

  All puppies are from parents who are OFA and AVCO clear.

  Puppies have had dewclaws removed, are wormed, and have their first vaccinations.

  Puppies are fed Diamond Puppy Food (our girls are fed Diamond also).

  Puppies are free to go to their new home at 7 1/2 to 8 weeks.

  Are you looking for a family companion (pet)?
  Do you plan to show in conformation, obedience, agility? Are you looking for a working dog?
  Are you planning to breed your dog?
  Who will be responsible for caring for and training this puppy?
  How many dogs do you currently own?
  Where will the dog live?  Inside?  Outside?
  Is your yard fenced? (Mandatory!)
  Do you have small children?
  Your first choice for color/sex?
  Your second choice for color/sex?

INFORMATION YOU SHOULD ASK ANY BREEDER

  Are hips OFA clear for dysplasia and eyes AVCO clear for hereditary defects on all breeding stock?
  How many dogs/breeds do you have and how long have you been a breeder?
  Do you sell to brokers or pet stores?
  Can we visit your kennel before the puppies are born?
  How many litters do you have per year?
  How often do you breed your females?
  How do you socialize your puppies?
  What can you tell me about genetic soundness in your pedigrees?
  Do you have a guarantee, and how does it work?
  What is your "breeding philosophy"?
