Family Companion Purchase Agreement & Health Guarantee

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This puppy is being purchased as a companion/pet and is being sold on an AKC Limited Registration.  As such no litters produced by this dog are eligible for AKC registration.  The purchaser understands the health benefits of spaying and neutering and agrees to have this done.

A shot record of vaccinations is provided to the purchaser.  The puppy has been examined by a veterinarian and found to be in good health at the time of sale.  The purchaser of this puppy has a health guarantee extending to (one week) in which to have the puppy checked by a licensed veterinarian.  If the veterinarian finds a serious health problem with the puppy, it is to be IMMEDIATELY returned to Stoneridge Labradors along with a letter from the examining veterinarian explaining the problem.  At that time a full refund will be returned to the purchaser.  No cash refund will be returned after (one week).

The breeding animals reflected in this puppy's pedigree have been hip certified clear against crippling hip dysplasia through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and eye examinations have been performed by a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (AVCO), thus helping to maintain the medical integrity and the standard set for the Labrador Retriever.  However, problems can still arise.  If this puppy dies or requires euthanasia within the first year from a life threatening inherited genetic defect diagnosed by a veterinarian, it will be replaced free of charge with a puppy of equal value from the next available litter.  This Health Guarantee is non-transferable and void if the dog is overweight or has been bred.

The purchaser agrees to maintain this dog in a safe and healthy environment.  When outside, the dog will be provided housing of adequate size, shade and water.  It is recommended the puppy not be permitted to play unsupervised with older dogs during the vulnerable months of structural development, first 12 months.  If the purchaser is no longer able to care for this animal, they agree to contact Stoneridge Labrador Retrievers before placing the dog in a new home and to never place the dog into a pet store, dealer, or animal shelter.

HIP GUARANTEE

This guarantee is in effect until your dog is 26 months of age.  The following restrictions apply:

An Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) evaluation of Severe or Moderately Dysplastic must be made by the time    your dog is 26 months of age.

The dog must not have been used for breeding.

The x-ray must be taken by a veterinarian qualified and knowledgeable in the proper technique of acquiring a radiograph suitable for OFA evaluation

Dog must still be in the care and keeping of the original purchaser.

The dog must be unable to fulfill his original purpose as a family companion animal.

If your dog has been confirmed by OFA to be Severely or Moderately Dysplastic and is unable to continue serving you as a companion animal, you will receive another puppy of equal value or your purchase price will be applied to a new puppy as a litter occurs.  For this guarantee to be effective, you must ensure that:

Your dog has been spayed or neutered.

A written statement from your veterinarian and a copy of the OFA report are sent to me.

Because hip dysplasia and arthritis are nature and nurture dependent, this guarantee applies only to the first 26 months of your dog's life.  You must let me know there is a problem by the time the puppy is 27 months old.
